Although technology is not used by teachers in teaching, research has shown that the use of technology is very beneficial in teaching. However, little is known about the challenges and difficulties faced by teachers who use technology in teaching. Moreover, there are very few studies that explore teachers’ perceptions of the use of technology in teaching in Libya. Therefore, this research explored the challenges and perceptions towards the use of technology. The study followed a quantitative research design, where a questionnaire was used as a main research tool. Data were collected from 26 EFL lecturers at Alasmarya Islamic University in Zliten, Libya. The collected data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel software. The analysis of data seems to indicate that the main challenges that EFL teachers at Alasmarya Islamic University in Zliten face in teaching with regard to the use of technology are the lack of internet connection, computers, and technical assistance within universities that allow the introduction of technology, and the lack of teachers with sufficient competence and experience to use technology. It was also found that teachers in higher education have a positive perception towards the use of technology in teaching. In fact, the EFL curriculum in Libyan universities need to consider incorporating technology into instruction in order to achieve the objective of teaching and learning process.

الفرجاني, أروى مفتاح; التركي, شيماء الدكالي; حامد, نسرين عبد الغني
Interaction between language and gender has always been one of the over-heated subjects in sociolinguistics. This study is an attempt to shed light on the gender differences in language use. It aims to examine three aspects of linguistic differences: interruption, tag questions, and the amount of talk. It also aims to suggest possible reasons behind the variation of language. To achieve this aim, the researchers used three episodes of a social program for data collection. The sample is five presenters in each episode from Libyan society. The outcome of this research shows that there are slight differences between men and women in using language. Furthermore, the results of the study reveal that men interrupt more in conversation as well as that they are more talkative. While women use tag questions more than men. In words, the gender factor can play an important role in linguistic differences.

<description>Different approaches to teaching English language for young learners
شعبان, عائشة المبروك; عبد الجبار, أسماء; الصدوري, ام الخير شعبان; التكوري, علياء عمار
Teaching English as a foreign language for young learners is one the most complicated task because English is rarely used in Libya. However, the methods which one brought into teaching English for young learners by teachers who teach at pre-school of Tariq Ben Zaid do not serve to teach it a high skill. But with using songs and another approaches, it is possible to help teachers to teach young learners with funny and relief to improve their skills in learning English. Shin 2006 states that young learners should have fun with English to make the theory and practice of teaching young learners in the English as a foreign language classroom successful.
