The varieties of American English and British English

Abstract

The goal of this study is to examine the two variety of British and American in terms of their phonetic differences. Although the language of British and American is English, there are some pronunciation, vocabulary, spelling, grammatically idiomatic. In this study the phonetic differences between these two English variety were analyzed in terms of pronunciation, vocabulary grammatical idiom and other differences between them. The phonetic variation between these two English varieties were examined in this analysis in terms of their vowels (including monophthongs and diphthongs and consonants. The approach used in this study is comparative. The comparative method is a linguistics methods used to compare British and American pronunciation and will get English language learners into the recognition, conclusions knowledge and correct usage of British and American English.
