This study mainly examines the students' preferences of the ways for teaching vocabulary that teachers used through the teaching process at the secondary school. The first chapter presents the introduction, background of the study, statement of the problem, significance of the research, aims and objectives of the research, research questions, research methodology, data collection tools, research population, research samples and sampling, limitation of the study, terminologies, and hypothesis of the study. The second chapter provides a detailed literature review of the domain of teaching vocabulary. It tries to investigate the place of vocabulary teaching in modern and effective methods and materials to English language teaching. It includes discussion of some methods and materials like word lists, acquiring vocabulary through media, using computer, the use of reading comprehension method, etc. It investigates the importance of vocabulary. Chapter three is a detailed discussion of the research methodology and the method that used in this study.
Chapter four displays the analysis of the results of the questionnaire which was used for collecting data which is students' opinions on the ways in which they were taught vocabulary with reference to methods and materials used. Students' preferences were also surveyed. Chapter five covers the summary of the findings, conclusion and recommendations. |
