dc.description.abstract This research studies the differences between British and American English in terms of grammar and vocabulary, it also helps English learner how to distinct between these two varieties. The research is divided into five chapters. The problem statement was formulated as follows: 1. How do students differentiate between British English and American English in terms of grammar and vocabulary? 2. To what extent does the material of English department affect the differences between British and American English? 3. What are the factors that make one of these styles preferred by students than the other? The research design was mixed method; the questionnaire was used to collect the data. The research results were: It can be concluded that, the American English percentages were higher than British English, that means the students prefer American English more than British English in both sections grammar and vocabulary. en_US
