A Characterization Study of 'Charles Dickens' Great Expectations

Abstract

This research attempted to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the novel Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. This research has been undertaken during the first and second semesters of the school year 2017-2018 in the College of Arts, Alasmarya Islamic University, Zliten, Libya. Great Expectations addresses the most contemporary issues of social justices and inequality. This research aims to analyses Great Expectation of all aspects. The life, the early life, and some of major works for Dickens explained specifically the novel of Great Expectations. Then the major has been explained in depth as well as the minor characters in brief. The plot overview has been analyzed carefully showing the structure of this novel. The themes, Motifs and Symbols took part and explained in detail. Then the research concluded with the summary, conclusion and suggestions for further studies.
