Abstract:
This study aims to explore to what extent the female students of English Language Department at the Faculty of Arts at Alasmarya Islamic University master the use of punctuation marks in essay writing. This study based on a test analysis of their performance in punctuating the sentences given to them. The study focuses on the students' ability to punctuate the sentences given to them. The participants were 18 students who are studying Writing 2 or Writing 3 in Spring 2020/2021. The results of the analysis revealed that most of students are mastering the use of using punctuation marks in their writing properly.
